In the 2018 campaign, then-candidate JB Pritzker repeatedly slammed his opponent, saying he was responsible for the tragic deaths of veterans at the Quincy Veterans’ Home. Pritzker even went as far as calling his predecessors actions “criminal”.

Fast forward to today, and Governor Pritzker continues to refuse to take responsibility for his own fatal mismanagement of Veteran Affairs, leading to COVID-19 spreading rapidly through the LaSalle Veterans’ Home that took the lives of 36 Veterans, a quarter of the population in that facility.

Instead, Pritzker has said “these things happen” and chalked up the tragic events that led to 36 deaths at the LaSalle Veterans’ Home as a mis-hiring of his former director of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

What Pritzker once labeled as “unconscionable negligence” and “criminal” acts, he is now claiming “these things happen.” What a difference a few years makes for JB Pritzker.
