Chicago Teachers Union bosses aren’t about to let the current negotiation over health safety measures to return back to in-person learning go without making further demands all while ignoring the science and facts behind in-person learning.

WGN: The director of the CDC has said research does not back CTU’s claims that the vaccine is needed.

“Increasing data suggests that schools can safely reopen and that safe reopen does not suggest that teachers need to be vaccinated in order to reopen safely,” CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said.

But while CTU continues to refuse to return to in-person learning, students are suffering from failing grades, depression, and isolation. After months of remote learning, many students are falling behind. Additionally, Chicago Public Schools are the only schools in the city that do not offer an in-person learning option to parents and students.

Fox: a deal must be struck immediately to reopen public schools during the coronavirus pandemic, as students suffering from “failing grades, depression [and] isolation… cannot afford to wait any longer.”

It’s clear that CTU bosses are not following the science and data and instead putting their self-interests above their students.
