Gov. Pritzker’s Calls for Ethics Reforms, Just Political Rhetoric

Pritzker is protecting the same corrupt status quo that has plagued Springfield for decades.

Despite the mounting federal investigations swirling around Speaker Mike Madigan, Governor Pritzker is refusing to call for a special session to pass much needed ethics reforms. Instead, Pritzker uses political rhetoric in an attempt to convince the public he’s taking action. Don’t take the bait. If Pritzker was really interested in passing the sweeping ethics reforms that are needed to clean up Springfield, he’d take real action and call for a special session.

Instead, Pritzker is protecting the same corrupt status quo that has plagued Springfield for decades. Without real ethics reforms, Illinoisans can expect more federal investigations into bribery and property tax schemes like the ones uncovered last week that are aimed at Madigan and Pritzker.
