Governor Pritzker joined seven other Democratic governors in signing on to a letter requesting President Biden repeal the limit on state and local tax, or SALT deductions.

The repeal of the limit on SALT deductions would only provide relief for wealthy homeowners in high-tax blue states, like J.B. Pritzker, not the middle-class citizens Governor Pritzker claims to be advocating for.

Governor Pritzker is looking out for his bottom line by advocating for tax code changes that will save him thousands in federal income taxes,” said Kayleen Carlson, executive director of Illinois Rising Action. “Pritzker has a history of attempting to save on taxes, such as ripping toilets out of his gold coast mansion and keeping funds in offshore bank accounts. This is just the latest example of Pritzker trying reduce his own taxes while attempting to raise taxes on hardworking Illinoisans.”
