Self-Proclaimed ‘Independent’ JB Pritzker, Hires 35 Friends of Mike Madigan

This is just more of the same in Illinois. Despite Pritzker’s “independence” Mike Madigan is still running the show in Springfield.

From the moment Governor Pritzker launched his campaign for Governor, he has been desperately trying to declare his independence from Democrat party boss, Mike Madigan. Pritzker has made countless claims that he doesn’t do things the Madigan way, rather he is independent and doesn’t take his marching orders from the party boss. Trouble is, Governor Pritzker is not the self-proclaimed “independent” that he likes to publicly portray.

A recent report exposing Governor Pritzker’s hiring of 35 people on Speaker Madigan’s clout list into his administration is just the latest example of Pritzker’s “independence” from Madigan.

From WBEZ: “As Pritzker won the election in 2018 and was sworn into office last year, Madigan’s office sent him the names of scores of job seekers and the positions in state government they desired. Madigan’s successful recommendations far outnumbered those from other legislative leaders, with records showing the new governor made nearly three dozen hires and board appointments off the speaker’s clout list.

“Illinois taxpayers are paying those Madigan-endorsed public officials a total of more than $2.5 million a year, according to WBEZ’s analysis of Madigan’s recommendations, which were obtained through public records requests.”

This is just more of the same in Illinois. Despite Pritzker’s “independence” Mike Madigan is still running the show in Springfield.
